The first week of NaNoWriMo is done and it’s been a blast so far! Not only have I found my flow again, I’m also well on target to finish in time. This weekend I’ll try and write a bit more, so I can have an off-day or just finish earlier. But I think it’s a good idea to have a little bit of a buffer, just in case. ๐

My badges! Only four left to go ^_^
I really love the fact that you’re getting badges if you’re working on your manuscript. I’m very susceptible to achievements in video games, so getting badges for writing is a bit similar. And I intend to get them all this year!
What every day so far has looked like for the past week was me working at the office, then closing up, having dinner and having a good writing session. Whenever I do get ideas during the day I note them, of course. It’s a great way to get a head start for the writing session. Of course, I couldn’t do it if Bren wasn’t taking good care of me either, by cooking me dinner and getting me coffee, or tea. ๐

My stats so far! Just slightly over 25% done!

Doing a little over the minimum of 1.667 every day!
I think things are looking great. I know where the story is headed and I think I’ll be able to write at least a couple more chapters before I need to sit down and do a bit more in-depth plotting, but the story is shaping up nicely and I’m loving the characters I’ve put in so far.
My mechanical DAS keyboard is proving to be a trusty companion once again! I did write most ofย The Xoron Redemption using it and I just love the sound it makes when I’m typing. I don’t know if Bren agrees on this, haha.
So, that’s it for my small update. I’m still considering maybe posting a sneak preview for a character on here, maybe this weekend. We have a weekend without any appointments, so that should give me some time to draw and come up with a nice profile for one of the other main characters, a little demon named Crewly.
How are you doing on your project? Is everything going smoothly too? Let me know in the comments! ๐
Happy writing!
Jeffrey
Jeffrey, This is so good for us reading your blog to actually learn step by step how you are keeping up & on target to reach your goal writing for NaNoWriMo! Your daily routine is disciplined for success. That note taking during the day is a super idea! And with Bren as your support, how can you lose???!!! That mechanical DAS keyboard must have a sound replicating something like the sound of the old typewriter keys from what you infer. Fun! Besides your productivity, you are excited about your writing & your characters enough to consider sharing some of it! That enthusiasm is the drive you have to “do” NaNoWriMo! –GO, JEFFREY! Pihl
