The U-Wing appearance in Rogue One certainly was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. It was the rebel ship’s first appearance on-screen and I really liked their design a lot. When we found this microfighter a a local store I got it as a gift from my girlfriend. In return I bought her the pretty awesome Unikitty’s Sweetest Friends EVER! set. Since I had some time to spare I decided to build this little unit 🙂
There’s two small bags inside the box and the instruction booklet. I really love the background too with the Scarif beach and the palmtrees. I think it’s one of the most iconic Star Wars fights to date.
This set can be finished in about fifteen minutes, tops. What I really like about it is the pilot minifigure. His helmet with the transparent visor is cool and the amount of detail of his suit is very nicely done too. Add to this the fact that you can change his expression, because the head is printed on both sides and you’ve got one awesome minifig!
The ship itself is a bit of a mixed bag to me. I really like the U-Wing with its wings pointing forward, but when you fold them sideways, the ship looks quite cool in the movies and Star Wars Battlefront II, but not so much as a Microfighter. So I’m keeping it as it’s displayed on the box.
And here’s my attempt at recreating the epicness of the Scarif battle! 🙂
Another fun little set! I’m looking forward to building the rest in my collection!
