The Goblin Philosopher: Getting Cozy & Creative

Last Sunday Autumn officially started with the Equinox. As the trees are starting to lose their leaves, so too can we start to let go of that which we no longer need, or that which no longer serves us. The days grow shorter and now starts the period where we spend more time inside. The days of warm sweaters, hot drinks and cozy games has started and I’m all here for it!

Autumn is perfect to pick up creative hobbies

Crafting, drawing, painting, they’re all great hobbies for this season. As we tend to spend more time inside our homes, now is a perfect time to pick up those old creative hobbies, or perhaps even start new ones? I tend to be interested in all kinds of creative hobbies. I love drawing and I’m thinking about picking up painting, too. But one thing I wanted to share was how I created this wonderful little diorama in a bottle.

Pikmin diorama with a miniature tree and hag stone

I bought some soil rich with nutrients for bonsai trees and bought a miniature tree to put into this diorama. I also put in a hag stone and some wood. Then I added moss from our own garden and finally added the Olimar Amiibo with three little Pikmin to create this wonderful little diorama. All it took was an idea and maybe half an hour to put it all together. The only thing is that the miniature tree is a bit large already, so I’m going to have to keep a good eye on how it grows and eventually remove the cork, haha. But I really love how it all came together. You can do exactly the same thing with a bottle like this and some creativeness.

In order to take care of this diorama, I water the tree weekly and spray water on the moss every other day. That way, the living parts of the diorama stay healthy and hydrated and it just looks like such an adventures little scene! As a long time fan of the Pikmin series, this was a project I had long planned to do and it just looks great on my book shelf.

Like I said, this was just a small project, but it’s just a little idea to get your own creative juices flowing! We’re expecting a lot more rain during this season here in the Netherlands, which always make this a perfect time for doing project like these.

How do you plan to get creative?

I love hearing about all the projects you are planning to take on during this Autumn season, so please, feel free to share them in the comments below and let me know how it went! Let’s inspire each other to be more creative and sharing each other’s work!

Have a good one!
