Hello there lovely people! We’re nearing the end of January and I hope you’re all still on track with whatever goals you set for yourself. For me personally things have gone pretty well, I’ve been working on the new blog and relaxed for the most part of last weekend. Seeing as we didn’t have any appointments it was very nice that we didn’t have to do anything, so we spent our Saturday evening watching a movie “Don’t Look Up” with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep. Sadly the cast of superstars wasn’t enough to save this movie. It wasn’t terrible, but it most definitely wasn’t great either. I also finished reading Earthshot, which will get a review later this week, as wel as Samus Returns.
Monthly review
At the end of this week, I’m going to have a look at my year goals and see how well I’ve done in the first month of this year. I know not every goal has had its share of attention, but overall I feel pretty good about what I’ve been working on this month. I think one of the main things is that I look at my To-Do lists a bit different than I used to. I try to get as much done as possible, of course, but when I don’t, or can’t for whatever reason I no longer feel bad about it and just see it as an opportunity to pick things up in the next week, month, or whatever time period.
More on mindful practices
Besides reviewing how my month went, I also have a couple ideas for new blogs about mindfulness. I’ve started reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and I’m also listening to an audiobook Get a F*cking Grip by Matthew Kimberley, which says it’s the last selfhelp book you’ll ever need. Let’s see if that’s true. 😉 Anyway, these books have sparked some motivation and inspiration in me to write something about the subject of mindfulness and how being present can really help you to focus on what’s truly important.
I hope you’ll all tune in on my blog later this week. For now I wish you all a great week!
Happy Monday!
