Hi all and welcome to the last Monday Musings of this year! I hope you all had some lovely X-mas days behind you. I was absolutely spoiled with gifts (more on that later) and we had a good, relaxed time. Due to COVID-19 we couldn’t celebrate much this year (again), so we kept it small and intimate. 🙂
As the year draws to a close, I’m using this week to determine my goals for next year. Bren and I are busy making plans for our blog and pretty soon we’ll have a fun announcement for you all! We are definitely going to start the year with fresh new ideas and plans and I absolutely love them! Later this week I’ll be sharing my goals for 2022 with you and how I’m thinking I can achieve them. But today, let’s have a look at X-mas!
As usual Bren and I spent X-mas eve together, giving each other gifts. She had the most awesome ones for me! A gratitude journal, three books, a set to grow my own mushrooms, a videogame and Cards Against Star Wars! And the Scout Trooper helmet from LEGO Star Wars. One of the best gifts was an ammonite that has been cross-sectioned.
Isn’t this just amazing? And it’s millions of years old! I am so amazed at stuff like this. This one will look amazing with the other two fossils I have. I really need to start making some space to display them properly.
Yesterday we had our best friend Robin over and we exchanged gifts with him too. And Bren cooked the most lovely vegan X-mas meal for us. I can’t take any credit, because I only helped a little bit with the preparations, but it was truly amazing. A cashew chestnut wellington with vegan gravy and cranberry sauce. It was perfect and very yummy!
Of course, our kitties also got something nice for X-mas, fresh salmon! They really seemed to enjoy it too and there weren’t even any fights over the food! 😉 Medusa ate separately, because she didn’t seem to like the salmon and she preferred cat soup with chicken instead!
One of the best gifts from Robin was this Dune board game, which I can’t wait to play! It’s even possible to play this by yourself, so I might do that first, to get the basics down, so I can explain it to my friends when we play this. The game contains a load of cards and wooden figurines, so I’m thinking the game might be quite complex. Dune has always been one of my favourite scifi series and this game looks like a lot of fun!
What’s next on this blog?
As I said, I’ll be working on my 2022 goals this week, so you can definitely expect a blog about that. Also my year in books. I still have to finish two books, but I plan to do that this week, hopefully. 😉 If not, then I’ll just carry those two over to next year 😉
I hope you all had a great X-mas and shared a good time with your loved ones, doing what you love when you’re with them!
Have a great week!
~Jeffrey
