My first work week is behind me and our first “real” weekend in our new home felt like it was way too short, but here we are, once again: It’s Monday!
The freedom a bike can give
It’s been well over a week since I’ve had to take the car to get somewhere. Since we got our bikes prepared last Thursday we’ve been making use of them to get around town and not only is it better than going by car, Hilversum really is much better if you go everywhere by bike. Everything is within reach, so we did our weekly shopping by bike, we went to the market on Saturday by bike. It’s great, healthy and carbon emissions free 😉
Getting back into the groove
Slowly, but surely, life is getting back to normal for us as we’re settling in our new home. I’ve finally managed to pick up my daily routine of journaling, meditating and reading, which is really great. There are some things that I haven’t really come around to doing again, yet, though. Things like exercise and really sitting down to edit and rewrite my novel. All things in good time, of course, but I am finding it hard to get back entirely into the groove, but I think I’m allowed to give it some more time, as we get used to our new surroundings and after all the hard labour of actually moving.
Besides this blog, I’m also planning on writing new content for our blog The Book Dragon’s Nook. I finished reading Light of the Jedi before we moved and a review is due. I also expect to finish my current read this week and still have some review novels that I need to get off my To-Do List. Bren and I spoke at length about what we want from the blog and we’re both agreeing that we should read more books of our own choice.
That’s really all I have to say for today, since I posted my other article yesterday, there’s really not that much more to say. I will be back later this week with some more fun articles, though, so stay tuned and have a nice week!
Happy Monday!

Jeffrey, Biking around Hilversum sounds great! Sounds like you are more & more getting back in the groove with your old routines. And your writing reviews sounds ambitious. I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with your posts & comment. Tell Bren. That includes your book reviews. I can’t function with my doctoring & meds for depression. Sorry about this. Phil

Hi Phil, biking really is a great way to get around! We are definitely getting back into the groove and settling around here. Today we’re finally expecting our bar, so soon I hope to show you our new home!
Take your time and take care, Phil! We both hope you’ll be getting through this depression sooner rather than later. Let Geri take good care of you too and take care of yourself too 😉 Wishing you all the best, Jeffrey & Bren
