Hello lovely people! May the Fourth be with you! It’s Star Wars Day and that means we can expect some big Star Wars related news today. I already said that Bren and I ordered the brand new LEGO R2-D2 set yesterday, but it will be a little while before our little friend will find its way home here, since we ordered a bit late.

A brand new series

Today we’re being treated to a brand new Star Wars series on Disney+; The Bad Batch. This original series follows a group of clones during the end of the clone wars. The war is over and the Galactic Empire has formed from the ashes of the Republic. I’m really curious about this series, because it’s a very interesting time that we don’t really know that much about.

The Bad Batch was introduced to us in Season 7 of The Clone Wars series and I’m nearly done watching that season. It’s nice to know I can continue watching this series. The pilot is 70 minutes long, so that’s a very nice treat for all of us!

My favourite fandom

I already said it yesterday, but Star Wars remains my number one fandom. There’s just so many cool characters and so much stories, besides the movies. The Mandalorian has proven to us that a life action Star Wars series works great and I can’t wait for the next season to come at some point. Although we’re supposedly first getting the Boba Fett series before Mando continues his journey.

For me Star Wars has always been a big inspiration to do the things I do. My scifi trilogy wouldn’t have existed if it weren’t for Star Wars (and arguably Star Trek). I love studying the lore of Star Wars and noticing all the little details that come with creating such a huge interwoven whole.

The new High Republic series is something I’m also wanting to dig into. I already own two of the books, but I haven’t found the time to read them. It’s something I’m certain I will come around to at some point soon! I did finish the second Darth Vader comic omnibus and a review for that one is pending! 😉
