Recently we got our hands on a whole bunch of LEGO Elves sets, and among these was this lovely little set “Naida & the Water Turtle Ambush”. The set includes three mini-figures and a large buildable turtle mother!
When you open the box, you find two large bags filled to the brim with small pieces, and of course, the instruction manual.
The head of the turtle mother is supplied separately. Bag 1 contains everything you need to build the small platform that Naida can stand on.
The platform can shoot small discs too! Which is awesome if you plan to play with this set, of course! We did find it shoots very hard, so if you have children playing with it, you might want to watch out! 😉
There’s also this small boat that the goblin named Furi rides. It’s supposed to be able to shoot the chains as well, but we found that it doesn’t quite work that well. Maybe that’s for the better. Also, the boat doesn’t float, according to the box. We’re fairly certain it doesn’t because of its size and the way it’s built.
Here we were halfway through building the mother turtle’s frame. It looked a bit macabre.
And here’s the mother turtle, finished and all! 🙂 Naila and her baby on her back! The golden border around the shield was a bit of a pain to get right, but she looks really cool with the blue and gold shield!
After completing the set you’re left with a load of spare parts, which we transferred to our spare part container and can always be put to use at some point, of course. 🙂 It took us about an hour to build the set, at a relaxed pace.
Overall this set was quite a fun one to build and the turtle was a fun build. The set is great as a play set for kids too!
