My Monthly Goals For February 2024

Hello everyone! We’re already 10 days into February, but I’ve been a bit busy to write a post and I didn’t feel too good from Wednesday until today. So, here’s my post about my continuing goals for February and a short look back at January!

Looking back at January

January has been all about my plans for this year. I wanted to do two new things mainly:

  • Record a podcast
  • Start live streaming video games

I took most of my time to work out a new brandname for my video games streaming and I finally settled on Retro Jeff, but written as follows: R3TR0J3FF

Using AI, I created a new cartoon avatar for myself and I’m currently using it on Twitch and my new Instagram page. I’m posting daily on Instagram and steadily building a new following there. The same goes for Twitch, with the exception that I’m completely new to it. Last wednesday was my first live session and you can still view it from my profile. It was a lot of fun and I already took a few learnings from it. For instance, I definitely need a better camera and the audio could do with a little boost. So those are two things I need to take into consideration. But my idea was that you just need to get started and learn as you go.

The same goes for my podcast. I recorded the first introduction episode and I’m now considering my next episode. I want to record at least one full fledged episode before I put anything online, so I get into a rhythm for them. Doing a podcast about a serious topic takes a bit more planning than streaming a video game you’re playing. That’s why I’m still considering the frequency of episodes too. But that’s okay, because my main reason for doing both of these projects is that I want to have fun doing them. Without serious deadlines, or anything.

Prioritize health

One thing I really need to start doing is prioritize my health more. I need to use my gym subscription again soon and get into a good rhythm for that too. For some reason since we moved here, I haven’t been able to get it right, just yet. It was easier when I hit the gym before work and then went to the office, for some reason. Now I was planning on going during days that I work from home and on Sundays. But so far, I haven’t been able to do it just yet. So, yes, even I struggle with things sometimes, haha.

Summarizing the goals

My big four projects now are:

  1. Health and fitness
  2. Building my R3TR0J3FF brand on Instagram and Twitch
  3. Record the next Stoic podcast episode
  4. Blogs and writing

My goals for these projects are as follows:

Health and fitness

  • Stick to my gym schedule (Monday evening, wednesday and friday afternoon)
  • Keep meditating (this is going very well)

Building my R3TR0J3FF brand on Instagram and Twitch

  • Post daily on Instagram (story and a regular post, or reel)
  • Stream on Wednesday and Sunday

Record the next Stoic podcast episode

  • Prepare the next episode
  • Record the new episode in week 7 at the latest

Blogging and writing

  • Write at least one blog weekly
  • Continue plotting/rewriting for my novel

I think I’ve found a pretty good way now to cut up large projects into smaller bits and by doing these smaller bits, I feel I have much more control over them than I used to. It’s good to know where we are supposed to be headed, but it’s great if you can actually finish sub-goals.

As usual, I hope this post has been informative! If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments below!

Happy Goal setting!

Jeffrey
